6 Months Later,....

and 15 hour's of work and my sleeve is coming to an end:

update to follow..

Underworld: A guilty pleasure

Actually, where is Michael?

I'm not even going to deny, I loved Underworld 1&2. The mood, the settings, the visual style, maybe I've played too much vampire slayer when I was younger, oops.

Either way there's no denial Kate Becksale's protagonist 'Selene' made for one hell of a character. Add Bill Nighy to the picture and that was good enough for me.

It's nice to see the third instalment [no I'm not including that prequel] with a different change in storyline, January can't come soon enough, but please can 3D stop already.

p.s, I liked Van Helsing,.......don't judge me

Superman begins?

Does anybody else think this film had so much potential? Don't get me wrong, I'm still very fond of this film, sure it was ridiculously corny throughout, and Richard Prior skiing down the face of a skyscraper then landing on his feet is pretty absurd. What a man in a red cape flying isn't?, actually no.

I'm on about the scene where Superman's persona is split into good and bad, or blue and red in this case. Christopher Reeve is and always will be my quintessential Clark Kent/Superman, so to see him in his red role, physically and verbally dark/evil is a real eye opener watching it today in my mid-twenties.

If you have never seen the film and skip straight to the bar/scrapyard scene it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that scene totally doesn't fit in with the rest of the film's mad-cap approach, it's such a complete 180 that when it does come up it catches you totally off guard.

It's a shame Reeve never had the opportunity to explore this darker side some more, in the way Christian Bale brought back Bruce Wayne's credibility in Batman Begins. But hey, you gotta love the film's perception of the computer boom that hit America in the early 80's, who could forget Robert Vaughn's Ross Webster shooting missiles at Superman in what can only resemble a 4bit Atari arcade game, good stuff.

WII to receive makeover in time for Christmas

Remember the gameboy micro? If I wasn't such a fan I doubt I would either, it was released just prior to the Nintendo DS's launch in an attempt to shift as many GBA title's as possible.

Skip forward to the present and Ninty have dumped a whole bucket of resources and money into another incarnation of its Wii, for another attempt to shift as much software titles as possible in time for the festive season.

So what's different? and more importantly is it even necessary?

By the looks it'l be a horizontal console this time, with a few inches shaved off, which means goodbye to GameCube support [major bummer]. The motion plus controller is now included as standard.

So who in their right mind will by this? I guess you've got your dedicated hoarders of tech who'l want to add it to their collection, other than that, given the consoles sales, is there anyone left on this planet who hasn't already owned it?

Unless they release some pretty amazing software over the next coming months do they really expect the public to buy into the re-release when WII-U is looming over, and a second hand Wii can be found for a little as £50 these days,......who knows.
