THE LAST GREAT SYMBIAN: Nokia E71

In the wake of all these latest smartphone's that can control your entire life or even help you build a rocket to orbit Uranus [maybe not just yet] I decided to pull out my old Nokia E71.

This was my choice of phone about 3 years ago, and is one of nicest phones I've had the pleasure of using. What surprised me when viewing it now, in light of all these new wave of phones is just how smart and sophisticated the design really was on this device.

A sleek, thin form factor composed of stainless steel makes this device feel that little more special when in your hand.

I was never a fan on the Symbian platform, the applications and integration, whilst worked fine always had that sluggish and dated feel to it. Comparing against today's tech though, I really don't see why it can't hold its own. Replaced and slightly bettered by the E72, this featured mail on the go, wifi bluetooth and 3.5G, a comfortable qwerty keypad, an adequate 3.2mp camera with flash and a front facing VGA camera for video calling. It blows my mind how its taken Apple this long to integrate this feature.

E71, you were [are] awesome
